Concrete is the part you can't get wrong.
So a developer hands that part to a crew that has formed it ninety storeys' worth of times — and stands on site to answer for it.
An owner-operated concrete-forming subcontractor, based in Maple Ridge.
MJF General Contractors forms structural and architectural concrete for high-rise and multi-level construction across Metro Vancouver. We're a subcontractor — the crew a general contractor or developer brings in to form the concrete a tower is built from.
The company is run by Marvin J. Fuentes, a formwork carpenter with 15 years in the trade who has been forming independently since 2018. Since then MJF has carried the concrete scope on nine landmark towers and developments under the region's leading developers and GCs.
Licensed, insured, in good financial standing, and WorkSafeBC compliant — the table stakes for a sub a GC can hand a critical-path scope to without losing sleep.
Formwork sets the schedule.
Formwork is the temporary mould that wet concrete is poured into. Get the layout, the bracing and the tolerance right and the structure comes out true, on time, ready for every trade that follows. Get it wrong and the whole job pays for it downstream.
That's the part MJF owns — form, pour, strip, re-shore, climb — floor cycle after floor cycle, from the parkade below grade to the roof.
What we form
